Welcome to Chernie's Fitness Journey

Welcome one and all. Whether you are new to health and fitness or you've been getting after it in the gym for a while now, this is a place where all are welcome. I'm just here to talk about my experiences throughout my years of training and trying to find my way through it all. There has been a lot of trial and error (as to be expected) some injuries, and honestly, some IDGAF times. But now I am in my 40's and wanting to be in better shape, and healthier than I was in my younger years.


Growing up in Edmonton, Alberta, I was the odd ball among my friends. They all played hockey, and I played baseball. I was short, stalky (pleasantly plump you could say) and I didn't see the inside of a weight room until high school. Where I had no idea what I was doing (remember this was before the internet was as easily accessible as it is now). After high school, I played a little college ball, still short and stalky, but I slowly started figuring things out. When I came home that summer, I got hooked up with a baseball specific trainer in my area and I started growing my knowledge base. It has been a steady climb since then.


So the purpose of this blog is just to share things that I learned, like work outs and schedules, eating, supplements, things like that. maybe what I say here can inspire you or help you in some way.
